A Day in the Life
Medtronic has developed a new Emerging Talent programme (ETP) which provides an opportunity for individuals from diverse educational backgrounds to pursue a career in healthcare Technology. This intense 12-month programme has been designed to offer a structured Training & Education pathway to support your professional development in becoming a qualified Technical Consultant (TC) for the Cardiac Ablation Solutions (CAS) Business.
The Emerging Talent Programme will ensure you are confident and competent in all aspects of the clinical and business settings to become a highly skilled and specialised individual. Following the successful completion of the programme, you will become an independent, customer-facing Technical Consultant and an integral part of the UK and Ireland Team.
Responsibilities may include:
* Shadowing TC’s into hospital Cath Labs to observe devices implant procedures
* Attending online and virtual training modules and meetings
* Hands-on training, as well as regular assessments with dedicated trainers/mentors
* Completing assignments independently or collaboratively with your ETP colleagues
* Occasional national and possible international traveling will be required for training purposes
* Providing daily technical support on Ablation Technologies; specifically, Cryoablation, Radio-Frequency and Pulse Field Ablation Technologies
* Troubleshooting and problem-solving during clinical cases in the Catheter Lab
* Working together with the accounts manager to discover and drive commercial opportunities and introduce new products
* Showing interest in the patient and physician’s needs and proposing a Medtronic solution
* Proactively managing your diary to support customers and fulfill their training needs
Required Knowledge and Experience:
* Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Biomedical science or related clinical degree
* 0 to 3 years professional experience
* Fluent in English with excellent written and oral communication skills
* Full UK driver’s license
* Self-motivated, ambitious, and driven with the ability to demonstrate integrity, ethics, and respect
* Willing to travel with occasional overnight stays and may include some unsociable hours
* Core desire to help patients by providing healthcare solutions
Desire to self-develop and learn technical information at a high level and ability to work independently and as part of a team as well as strong organizational skills is valued. Experience within clinical environments preferred, as is a passion for people, innovation, and medical technology.
