An opportunity has arisen to join our growing team at Royal Primary Care. We are looking for enthusiastic Receptionist/Administrator to work within our busy medical practice in the Heanor area.
* This is a temporary 9 months maternity cover as follows:
1 x 37.5 hours per week
Main Duties of the Job
• Offer general assistance to the Practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone.
• Receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way.
• Undertake a variety of administrative duties to assist in the smooth running of the Practice, including the provision of secretarial and clerical support to clinical staff and other members of the Practice team.

Job Responsibilities
To work within the reception team with a focus on achieving excellent patient care via telephone and face-to-face interactions. Carry out GP approved triage to ensure our patients see the correct clinician the first time. Serve as the first point of contact for our patients and other healthcare providers.

Person Specification
Qualifications and Training
* GCSE Maths & English grade C or above or equivalent
* NVQ or equivalent in customer care
* Formal training in a public-facing environment
* Knowledge of GP computer systems, SystmOne
Experience
* Working with the public, preferably in a reception environment
* Basic office procedures
* Telephone call handling experience
Skills and Knowledge
* Ability to work independently following verbal or written instructions
* Understanding of the issues around safeguarding
