Job overview
The Nursing Associate will:
1. Be responsible for delivering high quality, patient centred, compassionate care under the direction of a Registered nurse/senior Outreach case manager with a focus on promoting health and independence.
2. Engage people with substance misuse problems to enter treatment services, providing therapeutic interventions across the area in group and 121 settings.
3. Be an accountable professional.
4. Work as part of a designated clinical and care team delivering care that focuses on the direct needs of the individual.
5. Carry out specific clinical and care tasks and responsibilities to a high standard and competency.
6. Have the ability to work without direct supervision, at times delivering care independently in line with the individual’s defined plan of care, accessing clinical and care advice when needed.
The responsibility of the postholder is to participate in the planning and delivery of individual care provided by the multi-disciplinary team. They will work independently under the supervision of the Registered Nurse/Senior Outreach case manager, providing holistic evidence-based high quality care to patients and will be professionally accountable for their actions. They will supervise and delegate appropriately to support staff within the team.
Main duties of the job
1. Maintain a professional portfolio, identifying role and skill developments in line with the NMC Code of professional practice.
2. Keep up to date with current national developments in nursing practice and policy.
3. Ensure NMC revalidation requirements are met.
4. Contribute to Trust wide/departmental policies, procedures and guidelines.
5. Maintain a professional appearance in line with the Trust dress code.
6. Uphold the Trust’s values and behaviours, maintaining public confidence and the Trust's reputation for delivering excellent care.
7. Maintain professional working relationships with staff and respect the equality and diversity of each person encountered.
8. Assist in the decision-making process regarding the referral of service user’s children to children’s services, assessing and interpreting complex information.
9. Deliver high quality, compassionate care under the direction of a Registered Nurse (or other registered care professional depending on the setting) with a focus on promoting health and independence.

* GCSE level 4-9 in Maths and English or equivalent
* Care Certificate
* Educated to a minimum level 5 foundation degree specific to nursing associate practice
