Our client, a leading provider of care for children and young people, is seeking a Commissioning Manager/Business Development Manager to oversee and expand their portfolio of 12 homes specialising in Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and Learning Disabilities (LD) across the East and West Midlands.
About the Role:
This hybrid role combines strategic commissioning with business development, requiring a leader who can drive occupancy, build strong relationships with stakeholders, and ensure the homes are aligned with local authority needs. Based in Burton upon Trent, you will oversee operations across the region while identifying opportunities for growth and development.
Key Responsibilities:
Commissioning:
Develop and maintain strong relationships with local authorities, commissioners, and other key stakeholders.
Ensure placements align with regulatory requirements and meet the needs of children and young people.
Business Development:
Drive occupancy and service development across the portfolio of 12 homes.
Identify opportunities for new service lines, partnerships, and regional expansion.
Strategic Oversight:
Collaborate with operational teams to ensure high standards of care and compliance.
Conduct market analysis to identify trends and ensure the organisation remains competitive.
Leadership:
Provide guidance and support to Registered Managers and senior staff.
Ensure all homes operate efficiently, meeting both care and business objectives.
Requirements:
Proven experience in commissioning, business development, or operations management within residential childcare or a similar sector.
Strong knowledge of the EBD and LD sectors and relevant regulations.
Exceptional relationship-building and negotiation skills.
Strategic mindset with the ability to identify growth opportunities and drive results.
Willingness to travel across the East and West Midlands.
A relevant qualification in social care, business, or management is desirable.
