Job Overview
We currently have a Band 5 OT vacancy within our well-established Early Supported Discharge Stroke Team in South East Essex. This post forms part of our community band 5 OT rotation, and there will be the opportunity to rotate to other areas within EPUT Community Services including inpatient stroke/frailty rehabilitation, admission avoidance, and frailty virtual ward.
If you are a newly qualified OT or an OT who is keen to work with stroke survivors and experience the breadth of Occupational Therapy roles within Community Health services, this could be the job for you. Community Health Services are changing and developing at a rapid rate, with a focus on admission avoidance, rehabilitation at home, and smooth and effective transition from Acute Hospital to home.
Main duties of the job
Here in the community, we have time to spend with patients to achieve their goals and meet their needs in a holistic way. You will be part of a large and experienced Multidisciplinary team (MDT) working within people’s homes.
You will be responsible for providing Occupational Therapy intervention to a designated client group. There is a robust support structure in place with Senior OTs, in-service training, peer supervision, and external CPD opportunities.
You will have the opportunity to work within close-knit MDTs alongside Senior Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Nurses, and Rehabilitation Assistants.
