Pastoral and Re-Integration Mentor Grade 8 £31,586 - £35,235 pro rata Full Time, Term Time 3 Weeks Permanent Required as soon as possible The Mentor will be part of the KS3 team that is responsible for monitoring the welfare of young people whilst at The Woodlands. They will work closely with an identified number of children and young people to ensure individual issues can be addressed by identification and dissemination of appropriate strategies with involvement from other agencies as appropriate. They will also work closely with SLT, parents, carers and external agencies. The post holders will be responsible for identifying the individual needs of children and young people in terms of personal and social developments and establishing outcome-based plans which are reviewed on an ongoing basis with The Woodlands and Parents/Carers. The post holders will be responsible for drawing up tailored integration plans for individuals who are making a transition into a longer-term educational placement and will be actively involved in delivery and evaluation where appropriate. Mentors may also be responsible for supporting day to day programmes within The Woodlands that promote re-engagement in education and develop positive behaviours They will be required to actively promote and formally monitor the young people’s participation in learning as evidenced by attendance, behaviour and feedback from colleagues. The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
