Are you a compassionate and experienced nurse/midwife committed to reducing child deaths?
The Child Death Review Team is a small, professional, and supportive team looking to welcome a new member. We review all child deaths from 0-17 years throughout Southend, Essex, and Thurrock.
We are looking for a new team member to assist in the provision of high standards of holistic, family-centred care, supporting families who have experienced the death of a child.
The successful candidate will work in partnership with agencies to ensure a co-ordinated approach within the Child Death Review process to support families, ensure a thorough, robust review, and share the learning from the review. You will also be an expert resource for the multi-professional team.
Main Duties of the Job
* All requests for a JAR will be met within 24 hours, by participating in a county-wide rota to enable an on-call response for 58 hours per week, supported by other team members.
* Collaborate with Designated and Named Professionals across SET to ensure a consistent and co-ordinated approach to child death review practice across the health economy.
* Provide expert, up-to-date advice, training, and supervision to appropriate professionals working with children on issues relating to child death review practice.
* Have an advanced understanding of childcare legislation, information sharing, information governance, confidentiality, and consent, and be able to give advice to others on these.
* Organise and represent at relevant meetings.
* Promote and facilitate good partnership working with all agencies enabling effective outcomes for children and young people.
* Ensure that performance data and supporting evidence for reporting frameworks are maintained.
* Participate in the dissemination of information and learning from child death reviews in a variety of educational forums to all members of the multi-agency teams across the health economy.
Person Specification
Experience
* Evidence of working with external agencies; ability to work inter-professionally and across professional boundaries.
* Significant acute/community experience.
* Previous experience of working with families, children, and young people.
* Experience of participation at Joint Agency Response in a professional capacity.
Qualifications
* Registered Midwife or Registered Nurse.
* Educated to degree level or equivalent.
* Advanced Multi-Agency Child Protection Training.
