The Role:
As a Behaviour Management Teaching Assistant, you'll be instrumental in creating a positive and structured classroom environment that supports students in managing their behaviour effectively. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Collaborating with classroom teachers and the Special Education Needs Coordinator (SENCo) to develop and implement behaviour management strategies and plans.
2. Providing one-on-one and small group support to students who may have challenges with behaviour.
3. Monitoring and tracking student behaviour and progress to assess the effectiveness of interventions.
4. Implementing positive behaviour reinforcement and de-escalation techniques.
5. Assisting students in developing social and emotional skills to improve their behaviour and self-regulation.
6. Working closely with external specialists, parents, and the school's support team to create a comprehensive behaviour support system.
Qualifications:
To succeed in this role, you should meet the following qualifications and have the following qualities:
1. Prior experience in behaviour management or similar roles, ideally within an educational setting.
2. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues, students, and parents.
3. A patient, empathetic, and compassionate demeanour.
4. A deep understanding of behaviour management techniques, including positive behaviour support strategies.
5. The ability to adapt and respond to the unique needs of each student.
