Join us as a Geospatial Apprentice Surveyor with a team that delivers high-quality services with exceptional attention to detail. You will be carrying out all aspects of Surveying (Geomatics) as well as assisting the Lead Surveyor.
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

Your training course
Geospatial survey technician (level 3) - Equal to A level
Course contents
* Comply with health and safety regulations
* Plan and prepare Risk Assessment and Method Statements (RAMS) and report any additional controls required
* Select and use personal protective equipment (PPE)
* Carry out adjustment checks on survey equipment
* Interpret information from client drawings and specifications
* Gather and interpret information from a range of sources
* Communicate with others verbally, for example colleagues and stakeholders
* Plan surveys selecting survey equipment for a project according to the client's specification
* Planning routes to existing and new sites
* Establish a survey control on site for example using total station, GNSS or levels
* Use setting out engineering equipment and techniques
* Use survey equipment, for example total stations, levels, laser scanners, and Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS)
* Capture and record geospatial survey data
* Select and use surveying processing software for processing data into either 2D or 3D drawings or models
* Produce geospatial survey reports using computer software
* Apply quality assurance procedures
* Manage time and tasks to meet project deadlines
* Comply with relevant industry legislation and regulations when undertaking geospatial work
* Communicate in writing with others
* Comply with environmental, social, human and economic sustainability regulations

* Training will take place at the workplace (combination of site and office base work)
* Block release training to be delivered at The Institute of Technology, Zoological Drive, Dudley, West Midlands, DY1 4AE
Requirements
GCSE in relevant subjects. Let the company know about other relevant qualifications and industry experience you have. They can adjust the apprenticeship to reflect what you already know.

Other requirements
30% of the work will be office based. 70% of the time will involve working outdoors. The role includes shadowing someone more senior for site work. Any travel to and from site would be as a passenger. All equipment and training provided. The employment start date is to be confirmed.
