If you're driven by purpose and ready to contribute to a better future, we'd love to hear from you About The Role We're looking for a Technical Estimator to join our Building Optimisation division and develop technical requirements and solutions that align with the needs of our internal delivery teams and clients. The role will be responsible for preparing competitive, accurate, and auditable costed solutions using supplier, subcontractor, and internal labour costs and rates. You'll have the opportunity to work on projects of various scales across all Engineering business streams, crafting proposals and business cases that cater to client needs. Your expertise will provide essential support to the leadership and management functions at Optimised, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, timely, and flexible support to team members throughout the business. What you'll actually do Maintain awareness and vigilance in accordance with Health and Safety standards and protocols. This includes reviewing sites in line with issued RAMS, flagging potential new risks and using discretion to terminate assignments should there be deviation from these standards. Work with the sales team as the technical expert in Metering and BMS (Building Management Systems) and IoT (Internet of Things) design. Liaise with internal departments and suppliers to obtain relevant quotations and information for tender. Attend site visits and tender review meetings with clients. Attend kick-off meetings to brief the project team should the tender be successful. Conduct onsite scoping surveys to identify and document technical requirements. Review metering diagrams, building schematics and points lists to determine requirements. Develop metering, BMS and IoT proposals including qualified technical and financial business cases. Prepare detailed costings and proposal documents, including liaison with suppliers and sub-contractors to ensure price accuracy. Follow our internal SCALE process to ensure a smooth journey from prospect to client. Work with the Engineering team to understand our delivery capabilities and ensure that the solutions you develop are in line with our methods. Work with the Utility Recharging team to understand metering requirements that enable utility recharging in line with best practice. Keep up to date on relevant legislation to ensure our solutions comply with relevant operating standards e.g., Part L Building Regulations, Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) Keep up to date with the latest developments across the industry and product portfolio to ensure our offerings and solutions keep up with industry trends and standards. Deliver product demonstrations in a pre-sales setting for our technology solutions. What you'll be able to offer Technical skillset in a mechanical or electrical discipline CSCS/ECS gold card holder desirable Proven experience in metering system and/or BMS/IoT design Competence in developing solution costs and proposal documents. Ability to communicate clearly with clients in non-technical language. Ability to work with and maintain strong relationships with sub-contractors and suppliers. Respect for rigorous health and safety standards. Willingness to learn new solutions and innovate to bring value to our clients.
