An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Support for Learning Assistant to become a valued member of our school team within Ochil House, Wallace High School.
You will be fully involved in the life and work of this happy and busy additional support needs school setting, providing an invaluable contribution towards high quality care and education of children with severe and complex additional support needs.
Applications are welcomed from enthusiastic and committed individuals with experience of working with secondary aged young people with a range of abilities, ideally including those with additional support needs. You will work within an enthusiastic and hard-working team to support children with learning opportunities that are part of a high quality, child-centred secondary education together with looking after the care and welfare needs of our young learners.
You will be a reliable, patient and innovative individual, who will be an effective team member. In addition, you will have good communication and organisational skills, a positive and solution focused attitude, and show a commitment to ongoing professional development. Enhanced training will be provided, including first aid and manual handling, to ensure that the successful candidate can effectively, and confidently, support the severe and complex additional support needs of our young people, this will include training on key medical interventions from NHS colleagues.
