The successful applicant will be responsible for planning and delivering excellent personalised learning opportunities, to pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs, all of whom will have Education Health and Care Plans. This role will initially be based in a Key Stage 2 / 3 class for young people with complex ASD. Primary / SEN experience is advantageous; applicants transitioning from mainstream are most welcome however experience within Early Years and Key Stage 1, and knowledge of early reading, writing, phonics and number development is key, as these skills are required when teaching in any of our classes. Candidates will be required to demonstrate experience of SEN teaching and working with pupils with ASD, SLD, SEMH and/ or communication needs and evidence the ability to work effectively within a multi-agency team to improve outcomes for pupils or have a strong passion and desire to learn in this area. The role is for a SEN teacher, who may be asked to teach within any of our age ranges, however in the first instance, we are preferably looking for teachers with the following experience: - A knowledge of Autism & delivery sensory based curriculums - A knowledge of early reading, writing, phonics and number development Requirements: Experience working with children with special educational needs Strong knowledge and understanding of strategies to support young people with both their studies and wellbeing Understanding of additional needs including autism, ADHD and aspergers Strong communication skills Ability to work well as part of a team Must be able to drive, have access to your own vehicle (must have been driving for at least 2 years) Working with Long Term Teachers We are an independent agency working with Nurseries, Primary, Secondary and Special Education Schools.
