Role Purpose
* Responsible for the investigation & enforcement of anti-social behaviour across the borough in line with legislation, Council’s Strategies, policies and procedures.
* To educate and work in partnership with relevant organisations to enhance the safety and well-being of the public.
Job Context (Key outputs of team / role)
* Reduce levels of Anti-Social Behaviour within the Borough through the effective use of relevant powers.
* Work in partnership with relevant organisations to enhance the safety and well-being of the public.
Main duties:
* Determine compliance with ASB legislation, initiate enforcement action, including carrying out visits and determining legislative requirements.
* Work in collaboration with HOs on ASB case management and provide guidance on mid and low level ASB cases.
* Represent the Council at public inquiries, meetings, and committee meetings, providing technical information and reports.
* Identify and carry out investigations and prepare appropriate solutions for professional problems, including consultation and liaison.
* Prepare reports and statements of evidence for legal proceedings resulting from contraventions of legislation, and attend court to give evidence as required.
* Provide professional, expert, and up-to-date technical and legislative advice to residents, businesses, Members, and key stakeholders.
* Prepare committee reports, technical reports, and correspondence for complex issues within the service area with support from lead officers.
* Issue letters, notices, legal documents, formal cautions, fixed penalty notices, warnings, and other documents as required by legislation.
* Ensure compliance with established legal procedures and legislation relevant to the presentation of evidence and court procedures.
* Take responsibility for dealing with moderately complex operational delivery and enforcement issues with support from lead officers.
* Work collaboratively to achieve high standards and customer satisfaction.
* Recognise and ascertain risks and impacts on individuals, using IT systems and specialist software for performance management analysis.
* Be responsible for technical and other equipment required for efficient performance of duties.
* Keep abreast of legislative, technical, and professional developments related to anti-social behaviour legislation and policy.
* Take relevant action based on professional knowledge and judgement to improve service delivery and protect the environment, residents, and businesses.
