Logistics done differently. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Development Team Manager (Software Applications) to join our team and lead our development projects to new heights. Position Overview: The Head of Development will be responsible for overseeing the design, development, and deployment of software applications, ensuring the successful delivery of projects, and fostering a collaborative and productive work environment. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent leadership and planning skills, and a passion for driving innovation. Key Responsibilities: Oversee the design, development, and deployment of software applications. (S4UK) Collaborate with cross-functional teams and business leads (Talend/S.I./X-Roads, etc.) to define project requirements and deliverables. Ensure code quality and adherence to best practices through code reviews and testing. Manage development project timelines, onshore /offshore development resources, and deliverables to ensure successful project completion. Identify and resolve technical challenges and roadblocks. Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status and progress. Coordinate with the QA team to prioritize the QA pipeline for S4UK changes. Track and manage budget Vs forecast costs for development ensuring that any under/ overspend is investigated and communicated. Requirements: Experience as IT Senior Leadership team member or in a similar role. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Strong proficiency in SYNON model (Designer/Programmer). Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. While primarily a waterfall environment, exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies is beneficial but not essential. Be part of something big.
