The Maternity Lead Digital Midwife will lead on the implementation and development of
the maternity digital record aligned to the digital strategy. They will work collaboratively
to ensure that the organisational digital agenda includes the maternity digital agenda.
They will be required to champion the aims and objectives of the digital maternity
transformation and will develop and maintain strong relationships with clinical leads,
practice development team, operational managers, and the wider IM&T team to deliver
an effective and innovative maternity digital record solution that underpins high quality
maternity care delivery aligned to national benchmarks.
The post holder needs a sound understanding of current and future maternity digital
drivers and digital maternity record requirements and will draw on their clinical,
technical, and operational experience to work collaboratively to develop and deploy
solutions to meet the demanding requirements of maternity care.
Main duties of the job
1. Drive, align and deliver on strategies linked to the maternity service
2. Support the Clinical Governance Team for Maternity services delivering the Clinical Governance Framework.
3. Contribute to the successful delivery of the Maternity Digital Transformation programme aligned with the trust EPR programme.
4. Lead and support co-production with Maternity and Neonatal Voices Partnership (MNVP).
5. Enable frontline maternity clinicians/specialists to optimise and continue to embed the use of the DMCR (Digital Maternity Clinical Record).
6. Support and advise clinical leads on how the DMCR can capture, extract and submit data to the MSDS.
7. Contribute to NCL, LMNS, and national development of Maternity Dashboard.

Person Specification
Education and Qualification
* Registered Midwife
* Professional and competent knowledge related to Maternal, Fetal and Neonatal care across the maternity pathway
* Teaching qualification- Mentorship qualification and/or recent teaching activity
* MSc level or equivalent experience in governance systems and processes
Skills and Abilities
* Digitally literate with a good knowledge of digital systems
* Problem-solving and analytical skills
* Ability to understand and support implementation of IT systems
* Ability to be critically analytical using evidence-based information
* Awareness of the relevance of high-quality data
* Awareness of professional accountability
Knowledge and Experience
* Minimum of 5 years clinical post qualification experience
* In-depth knowledge of IM&T system and procedures
* Experience of leading and implementing change
* Experience of working with healthcare clinical IT systems
* In-depth understanding of the Maternity Services Data Set (MSDS)
* Understanding of MSDS, CNST, SVBL v3
* Member of DMERG, and/or be prepared to join
* Member of digital system supplier user group
