Job Description:
The post is based within the Home First Community Support Roving Nights Service. The Reablement Assistant is responsible for providing personal care and crisis intervention support via the Out of Hours Service to ensure that vulnerable adults within North Lincolnshire are kept safe and well. The post holder is also a crucial part of our out of hours service that ensures 24/7 support is available for individuals in crisis situations.
The North Lincolnshire Home First Community Rehabilitation service is a registered Rehabilitation and Reablement service that provides time-limited intervention and therapies to people within their own homes. We strive to deliver support that puts people at the centre of our services. Our aim is to ensure that a person can remain at home, feel confident, and be safe to live as independently as possible.
Roving nights Reablement Assistant post holders will form part of our expanding roving team delivering person-centred care within the homes of our service users, helping them to maintain and work towards independence or identifying a long-term need.
Due to the role, a full UK driving licence is essential and use of your own vehicle is required.
The role involves direct work such as supporting with moving and handling, attending to personal care needs, and administering medication, as well as maximising opportunities for social inclusion and emotional wellbeing.
The role offers a fantastic work-life balance through a 16 or 24 hour per week contract, operating on a rolling rota basis over 5 or 6 weeks. Shift times are from 2300 to 0700. For those who would like more hours, there’s ample opportunity for working extra hours.
As a Reablement Assistant, you will be part of a fast-paced and developing service that has opportunities for further development and progression.
You will be working for an employer who cares about your health and wellbeing and offers confidential employee welfare and excellent supervisory and peer support.
A previous qualification in care is desirable, though not essential, as full induction/training will be provided.
As a council employee, you will have access to all the benefits of working for a Local Authority, such as a competitive pension, health scheme, attractive annual leave allowance, as well as weekend and bank holiday enhancements.
As an employer, we promote and safeguard the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults and expect the same commitment from existing and prospective employees or volunteers. Recruitment to this post will follow our safer recruitment procedure, which includes requesting references prior to interview and a DBS check.
