Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity to join the General Surgery Team.
The successful candidate will be joining an experienced Team of Medical Secretaries who provide secretarial and administration support to a large team of surgeons.
The post holder will need to have excellent work typing skills. Previous relevant secretarial experience is desirable.
The post holder will need to demonstrate a high level of attention to detail, excellent communication and organisational skills, and the ability to work with colleagues from a variety of professions and backgrounds. The post holder will be expected to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service.
Main duties of the job
Job Purpose
To support the medical secretaries in providing a high standard of secretarial and clerical support for the medical staff and their team. To provide cover for medical secretaries in their absence ensuring a 5 day service. Actively contribute to the smooth running of the Department.
A key part of the role will be ensuring the delivery of an efficient and high quality service to patients and therefore the post holder will require extensive experience of working in a healthcare, customer care or retail/hospitality setting. Familiarity with Trust systems such as Lorenzo, SystmOne, ICE, and Digital Dictation is also desirable but not essential for the role.

1. RSA/OCR typing or equivalent qualification.
2. 5 GCSEs (English & Maths as a minimum both to Grade C) or equivalent qualifications/experience

6. Experience of audio typing
