Job Description
Brockenhurst College is seeking to recruit a Lecturer in Electrical Installation on a full-time, permanent basis to join our team at the Marchwood site. The position offers a competitive salary of £41,227 - £42,434 per annum. (Unqualified teachers: £25,297 to £31,930 pro rata per annum.) We are a high-achieving college attracting around 2,800 sixth form students annually.
Located within the stunning New Forest Park, we offer a wide range of courses and excellent facilities.
The Role
As our Lecturer in Electrical Installation, you will enhance the learning experience and achievement of students through effective teaching and learning. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Teaching and assessing a variety of courses as agreed with the Head of Marchwood and relevant College managers.
2. Undertaking the role of Personal Tutor to students.
3. Preparing and assessing student work, monitoring progress, maintaining records, and providing reports to learners, parents, employers, and College managers as appropriate.
4. Collaborating with colleagues to meet students' needs.
5. Contributing to curriculum design, delivery, and development.
6. Developing literacy and numeracy skills through the programmes.
7. Contributing to teaching/learning resource development.
8. Keeping up-to-date with developments in the occupational sector and curriculum.
9. Organising and participating in visits, trips, and enrichment activities.
10. Attending relevant meetings, including enrolment, open events, and parents' evenings.
11. Providing support to the Head of Marchwood and team members regarding subject delivery.
Candidate Requirements
Ideally, you will have:
* C&G 236 Part 1 & 2 or equivalent
* C&G 233D Level 2 & 3 or equivalent
* C&G 2365 Level 2 & 3 or equivalent
* C&G 2391 or equivalent
* BS 5671-18th Edition (Wiring regs)
* Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training or equivalent
* A1 (D32/33) Assessors Award Qualification
* V1 (D34) Assessors Award Qualification (IQA)
* Minimum of three years' industry experience in Electrical Installation
* Good IT skills
* Excellent teaching skills with the ability to differentiate instruction
* Willingness to develop E-learning resources
