Wirral Council is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Early Years Area SENCO team manager to lead the team in supporting young children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) within early years and childcare provision. This role is crucial in driving forward inclusive practice within early years settings, ensuring that children receive the support they need at the earliest opportunity.
As the team manager, you will play a decisive role in planning, co-ordinating and implementing training for early years practitioners from early identification to SENCO level three accredited training. You will also lead the team effectively with an innovative mindset, looking for service improvements and maximising the team’s efficiency wherever possible.
To be successful in this role, you will have a degree in either Early Years, Education or Health and Social Care. Extensive knowledge of key legislation such as the Children and Families Act 2014 and the SEND Code of Practice is required. Proven experience in working with young children with SEND, implementing a variety of interventions to support children to achieve their potential is essential.
In this dynamic position, you will have the opportunity to shape the service offer, develop strategies for engagement with the early years sector, and drive innovative practices that continue to put young children and their families at the heart of our services.
