The TLR (Teaching and Learning Responsibility) allowance acknowledges an additional responsibility for leading or coordinating a specific area within the Biology curriculum or department. Key Responsibilities: Curriculum Delivery: Plan, deliver, and evaluate engaging Biology lessons across the curriculum, catering to Key Stage 3 (Years 7-8) and Key Stage 4 (Years 9-11) in line with the National Curriculum. Utilize a variety of teaching methods to cater to diverse learning styles and ensure all students can develop their scientific knowledge and skills effectively (practical work, problem-solving, critical thinking). Curriculum Development: Contribute to the ongoing development of the Biology curriculum, ensuring it aligns with the school's vision, national requirements, and the latest advancements in Biology education. Stay abreast of current trends and best practices in teaching Biology, implementing innovative approaches to enhance student learning (e.g., technology integration, inquiry-based learning). Assessment and Evaluation: Design and implement effective assessment strategies to monitor student progress in biological knowledge and skills (formative and summative assessments). Ideal Candidate: A qualified Biology teacher with a demonstrable track record of success in engaging students and developing their scientific understanding. Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for inspiring a love of Biology in students of all abilities. Strong pedagogical skills and the ability to deliver innovative and effective lessons that cater to diverse learning styles.
