The Head of Regulatory Affairs CIIOM oversees regulatory engagements and regulatory developments across the Channel Islands and Isle of Man. This role will support the Head of Regulatory Affairs with the responsibility for managing the Regulatory Engagement element. “Regulatory Engagement” for these purposes includes meetings, visits, reviews, thematic work, investigations, enforcement activities, reporting, information provision, correspondence and similar and whether of a regular, recurring, or ad hoc nature.
The role will support the Regulatory Affairs function as the central point of oversight for managing and tracking Regulatory Engagements throughout CIIOM to maintain a positive, effective, and consistent relationship with regulators and governmental bodies.
We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of Regulatory Affairs Manager, CIIOM.
The role holder can be based in Jersey, Guernsey or the Isle of Man and will:
1. Support as an SME in respect of the Compliance lead on regulatory engagements; ensuring that HSBC maintains full oversight of all relevant engagements across the Channel Islands and Isle of Man. This will primarily involve engagement with Jersey, Guernsey, and Isle of Man regulators as well as some overseas engagement,, between CIIOM and UK regulators.
2. Be expected to provide oversight of material regulatory engagement management in HSBC CIIOM and act as a contact point for escalation and/or any queries.
3. Ensure that the respective Regulators’ agendas and requirements are understood, communicated, and met, with the intention of there being “no surprises” in HSBC’s engagement.
4. Support relevant senior management in material engagement with the key regulators; including preparation of Briefing Notes and attendance at meetings as and when required.
5. Engage on Compliance related matters with Regulators, working with relevant Compliance colleagues, Global Businesses, Global Functions and HOST, as required.
6. Monitor regulatory engagement trends for Regulators and provide updates, reporting and guidance as appropriate/required.
7. Provide guidance to the Global Functions and Global Businesses regarding regulatory engagement trends/developments which may affect them, as required.
8. Supports HSBC strategy through leadership accountability, for a part of a function or functional responsibility within Global/Region, in line with designated responsibilities.
9. Discharge the relevant accountabilities as set out in the Group Standards Manual and Compliance and Regulatory Affairs FIM
Requirements
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
