We are seeking a diligent and proactive person to join the Real Estate Finance (REF) Team in the role of Senior Transaction Manager.
The Senior Transaction Manager will actively support a team of Relationship Directors (RDs) in all transaction and execution dealings; to ensure consistent, high quality due diligence is undertaken, and that all transactions are executed in accordance with HSBC UK’s quality standards.
This is an attractive and diverse job with a variety of responsibilities. You will work closely with RD’s in the transaction execution process, reviewing terms sheets, preparing professional instructions, reviewing due diligence reports and legal documentation while monitoring and liaising with professionals throughout the transaction process.
The Senior Transaction Manager is responsible for the efficient and effective completion of customer lending transactions ensuring the high-quality underwriting and due diligence standards are maintained whilst adopting a commercial approach with customers and professional advisors.
In this role you will:
* Prepare and review heads of terms for prospective customers.
* Instruct, monitor and liaise with professionals in respect of the preparation of due diligence reports and legal documentation.
* Review, analyse and report to RDs on property valuations and project monitor reports.
* Review and liaise with professionals and our customers to ensure legal documentation reflects credit approved terms and HSBC UK policies.
* Project manage REF transactions from structuring to completion of the documentation and drawdown.
* Manage lifecycle work and instruct professionals in relation to the existing REF portfolio.
* Ensure consistent application of HSBC UK policy and adhere to regulatory, financial, and legal standards to minimise business and reputational risks.
* Collaborate with colleagues to deliver solutions for customers.
* Support customers and place their needs at the forefront of all that we do, setting world class standards and ensuring demonstrating fair customer treatment and delivery of customer satisfaction.
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
* Experience of structuring and managing complex relationships is essential.
* Excellent planning, organisation and time management skills.
* Ability to analyse and consider issues based on commercial risk is essential.
* Strong communication skills both written and verbal
* Strong negotiation and decision-making skills
* Strong ability to manage the competing priorities of multiple deals is essential.
* Strong teamworking skills, promoting an environment of co-operation and trust, overcoming resistance where encountered.
* Experience of efficient and effective completion of customer lending transactions ensuring the high-quality underwriting and due diligence standards are maintained whilst adopting a commercial approach with customers and professional advisors
* Experience in the REF segment with an extensive understanding of process, transaction execution and operational functions is a prerequisite.
* Knowledge of bank lending documentation and the risks of REF lending is essential.
* Knowledge of Loan Market Association facility agreement documentation would be advantageous
* Understanding of REF policies, procedures and guidelines to ensure HSBC UK’s property lending and reputational risk is effectively managed and controlled is essential.
* A legal background relating to transaction management within a financial institution would be advantageous.
This is a hybrid role where the base location can be London or Manchester. There will be occasional travel required for meetings and collaboration.
