Full Time - Permanent Salary: £32,000 - £37,000 Hours: 40 hours per week – Full time Adhering to a monthly rota On call duty rota as directed by the homes manager We are seeking a highly-skilled, motivated and experienced candidate for a Children’s Home Deputy Manager. The successful candidate will support the aims and objectives of the setting and assist the Manager in the organisation of a high quality establishment for Children and Young people. The aim’s of the home are to ensure a safe, homely and therapeutic environment for vulnerable young people. Deputy Manager Duties and Responsibilities: Writing the staff rota Professional supervision of team leaders and support workers if necessary Organising shifts Monitoring the overall management and performance of the home Reporting key performance indicators to senior leaders Representing the home in external professional meetings Being a role model in care practice Implementing company policy in practice Demonstrating a flexible approach to provide the best possible care to young people Other management responsibilities: Conduct disciplinary, grievance and capability hearings in accordance with due process Ensure that key documents such as safeguarding records and physical interventions records meet the required standard Host Ofsted inspections effectively in the registered manager’s absence Ensure that all necessary health and safety checks are carried out and the up-to-date certificates are in place Ensure that on-call records are kept to the required standard Delegate effectively to others with suitable oversight so tasks are completed to the required standard Ensure that recommendations and/or actions from Reg 44 and Reg 45 are carried out Ensure that children’s case records are suitably archived Manage staff holiday and sickness Support the manager in research-informed practice and innovative care Keep up to date with relevant guidance and frameworks Deputy Manager Minimum Requirements: NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People Workforce, or equivalent Level 5 Leadership and Management children and young People (Desirable) At least 1 year’s experience of working in a residential setting with children Experience of managing a staff team Be flexible, committed to your role and available to join the On-Call rota
