An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, self-motivated pharmacist to join the Pharmacy and Medicines Management Team as the Deputy Network Pharmacy Director for the Pennine Network. The post will ideally be based in Blackburn and the successful applicant will be expected to provide operational management as well as clinical leadership to a team of Pharmacists and Technical Staff based across the Pennine network which includes the East Lancashire footprint. Main duties of the job The successful applicant will have strong leadership skills and will also be expected to maintain a clinical role ideally as a non-medical prescriber.Applicants should have clinical experience of working within a mental health setting and be looking to develop their management skills. As part of the Pennine team you will be provided with the opportunity to lead on the development and delivery of clinical pharmacy services to a variety of mental health in-patient wards and community teams. Working closely with clinical teams as part of a multi-disciplinary approach to addressing the care needs of patients and service users, you will also ensure safe and effective medicines management processes within the service and ensure the delivery of the medicines optimisation strategy. As a member of the pharmacy leadership team, you will also support Trust initiatives and contribute to quality improvement projects.There will be a requirement to support the Network Pharmacy Director in relation to network responsibilities deputising for them in meetings when required.The Trust has implemented electronic prescribing and medicines administration across all inpatients in Lancashire and has a strong track record of innovation in Health Informatics and the successful applicant will have a keen interest in the use of technology in a health care setting.The successful applicant will also be instrumental in leading pharmacy service transformation in the Pennine network.
