Person specification
Experience
Essential criteria
1. Significant experience of working as a qualified clinical psychologist in a relevant service
2. Experience of conducting highly specialist psychological assessments including cognitive assessments
3. Experience of working with families and carers
4. Experience of supervising assistants, trainees and other relevant staff
5. Experience of conducting complex risk assessments
6. Experience of teaching and training of staff in psychological skills and concepts
Desirable criteria
1. Experience of working in an Older Adult Service
2. Experience of service development
3. Some experience of NHS management tasks (e.g. recruitment and selection).
Qualifications
Essential criteria
1. Post-graduate doctorate in Clinical Psychology (or equivalent for those trained before 1996) as accredited by the BPS
2. Additional accredited training in an evidenced based psychological therapy which supports working with high levels of complexity and risk, or working towards accreditation
3. Registered as a practitioner psychologist by HCPC
Desirable criteria
1. Training in management skills
2. Training in supervision skills
Knowledge and skills
Essential criteria
1. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
2. Knowledge of relevant National Frameworks and guidance documents
3. Ability to complete audits and evaluations
Desirable criteria
1. Record of having published in peer reviewed journals or books
2. Experience of managing junior staff, including appraisal and KSF reviews
