As a Transport Team Manager, you will form part of central team supporting across our Distribution network at our cutting-edge Omega Distribution Centre, located at the Omega Business Park just off Junction 8 of the M62. You will be responsible for ensuring all elements of the Transport operation run effectively and efficiently to provide the best service to our stores; this includes working across all areas of the warehouse operation.
Additionally, you will coach and lead the Transport team to deliver shift KPI’s, strive to deliver high standards and optimise vehicle resources while adhering to health, safety, and regulatory standards.
Forming part of the Leadership team, you will work collaboratively with Operations and Shift Managers across all functions to ensure consistent delivery of the Transport operation. You will play a role in implementing changes to ways of working to drive continuous improvements within the team and wider business.

* £36,729 per annum
* Avg 39.48 hours per week
o 12 hour shifts, 45 minutes unpaid break
* Day Shift -
o 7am - 7pm - 4 on 4 off
* 5.6 weeks paid holiday per year including bank and public holiday allowance rising to 6.6 weeks upon 5 years' service

Job Overview
* Resource Management: Effectively manage the daily transport schedule, ensuring stock is delivered to stores safely and on time in a cost-effective way
* Working Collectively: Work closely with other Managers to prioritise activity and resources to constantly drive the team to deliver KPI’s and standards
* Leadership: Lead by example by displaying respect and integrity to promote inclusivity in the workplace
* Recruitment: Recruit, onboard and induct new drivers and ensure all training is completed
* Reporting: Take responsibility for logging vehicle issues, doing vehicle checks and escalating vehicle capacity issues to higher management
* Performance Management: Hold regular one to ones with drivers regarding performance, compliance and safety checks
* Investigation: Responsible for investigating any team infringements and no-compliance as well as reporting on accidents and near misses
* Wellbeing: Conduct driver safe and wellbeing checks
Minimum Criteria To Apply
* Experience managing a large team of drivers within a fast-paced warehouse and distribution environment
* Proficiency with transport planning systems such as Paragon and Microlise
* Strong communication skills and experience working cross-functionally with other departments
* Knowledge of health, safety, and transport regulations
* Ability to organise and prioritise workload effectively
* Proactive problem-solving skills and analytical thinking
* Ability to guide and influence key stakeholders while working as part of a team
