Description
Fixed term contract, 22.5 hours per week
Salary is pro rata.
* To provide technical support to the digital department with a particular focus on maintaining and increasing utilisation of the newly refurbished purpose-built digital labs.
* To liaise with teaching and non-teaching staff as necessary in order to ensure the digital lab is operational and well-maintained.
* To assist lecturers in the instruction and supervision of learners within the digital labs and provide general department support as designated by the Head of Department. Day to day tasks will include, providing in-class support, advice on the development of appropriate teaching resources which can be used in the digital lab and maintaining equipment as necessary.
* The successful candidate will become part of our experienced and supportive digital team and there will be opportunities to collaborate with technicians in departments such as media and music.

Key Responsibilities
* Maintaining and facilitating the operation of the recently refurbished purpose-built Digital Labs.
* Support with the facilitating of digital workshops using the extensive digital equipment available.
* Providing in-class technical demonstrations, and to support learners in their development of safe working practises and knowledge of digital equipment.
* Work with lecturers to provide technical support for open days/evenings.
* Maintaining stock control of the specialist equipment while complying with all Health and Safety regulations to ensure the safe and proper use of such equipment and related resources.
* Maintaining equipment and providing reports on equipment that may need to be repaired/replaced/upgraded.
* To assist with the ongoing and regular cleaning of equipment following COVID 19.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
* Minimum of 4 GCSEs (Grade C or above) or equivalent including English Language and Maths.
* Demonstrate good level of knowledge, understanding and practice of: Using digital equipment for the key purposes of the post.
* Operating and maintaining PC systems and associated peripherals.
* Solving software issues and working with Microsoft packages.
* Awareness of the Importance of setting high expectations in relation to Health & Safety in a digital setting.
