JOB SUMMARY
To be responsible for the efficient and effective operation of all food production, service planning and leadership of staff at the Middlesbrough unit along with other operational processes at the Food Network production unit and CHoICE sites where applicable. To generate business opportunities, and maintain sound relationships with existing customers, through a professional and supportive approach.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1.Ensures the food production site operates efficiently and in a cost effective manner.
2.Requisitioning of all necessary items to enable safe and hygienic operation of the food production unit and other areas, ensuring all standing financial instructions and contractual agreements are followed.
3.Ensures all staff maintain a clean, tidy and hygienic appearance, ensuring that the correct uniforms are worn at all times whilst on duty.
4.Responsible for the effective, efficient and safe operation of all food production standards from delivery of ingredients to finished product leaving the unit.
5.Ensures all procedures to the storage of ambient, frozen and chilled foods are adhered to at all times and always in compliance with all known regulations related to food hygiene and safety.
6.Actively participate in food production processes for the purpose of "on the job" training and effective customer relations with all users of the service.
7.To compile and provide Food Network Directors/ Head of Operations with Cost, Quality and Wastage reports from information collated from established internal processes, which the post holder will contribute to. The post holder will follow up with appropriate and agreed actions arising from this data.
8.Requisitioning for and maintaining supplies of all essential ingredients and other products to enable a safe and efficient production line, adhering to all standards and company policies.
9.Ensure all appropriate records are kept for the above as directed by the Head of Operations.
10.Ensure that all equipment and materials are used and maintained in a safe and efficient manner, according to company policies.
11.Responsible for the formulation and implementation of effective training programmes in food production techniques.
12.Responsibility for safe and efficient maintenance of all assets ensuring that local procedures are adhered to at all times.
13.Establishing and maintaining good working relationships with all parts of the Food Network business, production unit staff and key customers, as well as other external bodies vital to the success of the business.
14.Actively participate and co-operate in the development of the business with other members of staff as appropriate.
15.Ensure the efficient reporting of all equipment and mechanical faults, and that local procedures are followed.
16.The effective deployment of staff to ensure an effective and efficient food production system to all customer service locations.
17.Ensures that the health & well being of all staff under your supervision is evident.
18.Responsible for the control of all costs associated with the Food production unit.
19.Work with the Head of Catering Services. Choice, including attendance at meetings as required and cover where appropriate to ensure continuity of working partnership.
20.Organises and supervises the provision of emergency orders at all times, inclusive of new and existing customers.
21.Assists in the recruitment and selection of Food production staff, ensuring selection and recruitment policies are followed at all times.
22.Ensures that the agreed departmental standards are adhered to. This requires the post holder to carry out the following :weekly formal hygiene inspections, and contribute to the development of Quality Assurance Programmes and maintenance of existing quality certifications.
23.Responsible for ensuring that all stocks of provisions area securely held and that all food storage is maintained in strict accordance with identified food hygiene standards.
24.Attend meetings as required instructed by the Head of Operations and Food Network Directors
25.Responsible for the continued development of the staff..
26.Undertaking of any special project work as delegated by the Head of Operations and Food Network Directors.
27. Actively participates in the development of schemes for business development. This will include the formulation and establishment of marketing activities, promoting the company and products, and establishing links with key customers.
28.At all times project a friendly, helpful, courteous and professional image when in contact with other staff and customers of the service.
29.Maintain good discipline and initiate action on staff appraisal, counselling, and disciplinary matters in conjunction with the Head of Operation and Food Network Directors
30.Ensures a coherent and effective working relationship is developed and maintained with all staff.
31.An essential part of the post will be on the requirement to work flexibly in response to service needs..
32.To ensure clear and concise reports are completed for presentation to Food Network Directors and Senior Managers relating to any major aspect of the business.
33.Ensures that all meal requirements are despatched in full and that effective communications are established and maintained with all users of the service.
34. Contribute to the business development in the NHS and Private sector
