Job Description
JOB SUMMARY: The primary responsibility of the Driver is to ensure that International Medical Corps staff or goods movements are performed in a safe and secure manner.
MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Adhere to the local laws when driving and country legal and or IMC (if more restrictive) speed limitations.
2. Perform daily checks on assigned vehicles to ensure that they are in good working condition prior to departure.
3. Ensure that all assigned communication equipment is operational at all times.
4. Responsible for checking that the vehicles are equipped with all necessary items, including first aid kit, emergency food, spare parts, etc., as required.
5. Apply all safety and security measures required by International Medical Corps.
6. Ensure that passengers are respecting safety and security measures during movements.
7. Ensure that goods transported are safely stored and accompanied by a waybill.
8. Maintain vehicle logbook with all trip records (signed by relevant passenger) and refueling.
9. Maintain vehicle cleanliness and appropriate fuel levels at all times.
10. Coordinate movement with his/her manager.
11. Report to management any issues/accidents with the vehicle.
12. Perform basic maintenance when required.
13. Report to manager when servicing, repairs or maintenance is required.
14. Report any issues relating to the security of IMC staff or vehicles immediately.
15. Familiarize him/herself with the local area and planned journey route prior to departure, particularly regarding any security issues. If the driver is unfamiliar with the route, he/she is responsible for requesting a briefing from the security or logistics referent or another driver who has previously driven that route.
16. Ensure the vehicle is always defensively parked (parked backwards, ready to go).

Job Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
1. Clean and valid driving license required.
2. Typically, vocational degree.
3. Commitment to and understanding of IMC’s aims, values and principles.
4. Knowledge of English.
5. Relevant qualifications or training courses.
6. Basic vehicle maintenance skills.
7. Good interpersonal skills.
8. Ability to integrate and work well within a multi-ethnic and multicultural team.
9. Ability to work in harsh conditions, often in remote areas.
