Job summary We are looking to expand our clinical team and recruit additional Senior Support Workers to help shape the care delivered at Elmleigh. We are looking for experienced practitioners who are familiar with the acute mental health setting, required candidates will be confident, knowledgeable, and dynamic. Elmleigh is a 34 bedded adult acute mental health hospital situated in Havant. Elmleigh is split into two single sex bays, each with 17 bedrooms. In addition to these acute wards, Elmleigh also holds a place of safety in our urgent care zone. We have recently created our staff zone, this area includes changing facilities, kitchen, and lounge area for staff to go and relax in on their break. We have a multi fait room available to staff, giving you a space to go if you need a moment to gather your thoughts. We support flexible working patterns as we value home/work life balance. -Ward managers and team Leads work along side you to enable coaching and support during your shift. Midday training sessions are facilitated 7 days a week. This in-house training includes NEWS2, risk management, care planning, diabetes, reflective practice, and many more topics. Main duties of the job To contribute and participate in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care. To arrange and support patients to appointments and act as an advocate where appropriate. To assist in the assessment of care needs, the development of multidisciplinary care plans and the implementation of these plans supervised by a qualified team member. To respond to the needs of people sensitively with regard to their age, race, culture, gender, religion, sexuality and disability. To demonstrate knowledge of the term "professional boundaries" and apply this to working with patients, carers and significant others. To observe, report and record any changes in the patient physical/mental health and behaviour. To participate in social, recreational, therapeutic activities with patients and carers. To provide assistance to family and carers in coping with demands placed on them by the patient signposting them for Carer support. To be aware of and work to the principles of the Mental Health Act (1983). To promote patient and (where appropriate) carer involvement in all aspects of care.
