About us
Our purpose is simple: to save lives at sea. 24 hours a day, every day, RNLI lifesavers are ready to launch to the rescue.
We’re looking for an experienced Executive Assistant to support our Engineering and Supply Directorate. The Engineering and Supply Chain Directorate (ES) designs and builds best in class lifeboats at the All-Weather Lifeboat Centre in Poole and the Inshore Lifeboat Centre on the Isle of Wight. We provide Engineering, Estates and Supply Chain solutions to the volunteers and staff at all lifeboat stations and lifeguard facilities around the coastlines of the UK and Ireland.
Your role
Are you a natural influencer and co-ordinator of teams? Do you want an insight into strategic planning and decision making at a Director level? Are you a confident and effective communicator?
This is a very rewarding role supporting the Engineering and Supply Director and their Leadership Team. It's a very supportive and friendly leadership team, and you would be welcomed as a key team member in supporting the delivery of professional and essential engineering and supply chain expertise and services to the coast.
As an Executive Assistant, you will have the following responsibilities:
* Ensure the smooth running of the Directorate's office on a day-to-day basis using your first-class organisational and communication skills, including diary and email management, workload prioritisation, and dealing with internal and external inquiries and complaints.
* Enable the Director to provide effective, timely, and quality support to their department, Senior Leadership Team, Governance Committees, and the wider organisation.
* Take the lead on communications and engagement including drafting emails, letters, Directorate communications and events, presentations, reports, and Committee/Board papers.
* Support the Director with governance requirements including management and engagement of internal and external stakeholders and ensuring that the processes for capturing and communicating key decisions and actions are in place, understood, and effective.
* Embrace opportunities to take on delegated authority to coordinate and, if appropriate, lead key projects; making tactical process decisions on behalf of the Director and attending internal meetings to represent the views of the Director where appropriate.
About You
You are a proactive individual who:
* Would love an opportunity to work alongside a Director/SLT and gain exposure to working at a Senior Leadership level of a team.
* Is a current Personal or Executive Assistant looking for an opportunity to gain exposure to a new business area and/or work at an EA-level role.
* Has experience working in an Engineering and Supply department and can offer first-class EA support to the team.
* May have the aspiration of moving into an Engineering, Operational, or General Manager role as part of your career development plan, and this opportunity would give you the platform and opportunity to tailor personal development to help achieve this goal. If you are not currently an EA but can demonstrate your experience in the essential role criteria, and have a strong ambition and plan for career development, we would like to hear from you.
Personally:
* A natural collaborator, who enjoys working with lots of different people and finding opportunities for improvement.
* Works quickly and efficiently and enjoys a varied workload.
* Has strong integrity, and values that link to the RNLI ways of working, with confidentiality, trust and inclusivity particularly important.
