Job Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for Band 5 Pre Surgical Preparation Practitioners at the Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother Hospital in Margate. In this role, you will be part of an innovative and exciting team to provide exemplary, high standards of Pre-operative Care. The successful candidate will be working within the Pre-assessment Clinic and the Surgical Admissions Lounge. The applicant should be highly motivated and have an innovative and dynamic approach in the development of Preoperative care. Main Duties of the Job
1. To carry out pre-assessments for patients undergoing planned surgery for multiple specialities including orthopaedics, general surgery, women's health, and head and neck surgery.
2. To admit patients on the day of surgery to the admissions ward.

Person Specification
Experience
* Band 5 experience in surgery.
* Delivery of evidence-based practice.
* Evidence of facilitating learning in practice.
* Evidence of ongoing personal and professional development.
Knowledge & Skills
* Ability to work on own initiative using sound decision-making and problem-solving skills.
* Time management and organisation skills.
* Ability to coordinate admissions ward and pre-assessment.
Qualifications
* Registered Nurse or ODP III/ODA C&G 752ODP Diploma/1ST Degree Diploma level education/willingness to complete diploma, or AP with foundation degree.
Other
* To be aware of and adhere to the Trust’s Vision, Mission, and Values.
* Current understanding of key issues facing the NHS both locally and nationally.
