Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced, results-driven, and highly strategic Senior Buyer to join our dynamic procurement team. The ideal candidate will possess strong negotiation skills, deep market insight, and a deep understanding of manufacturing operations. This role will focus on driving cost-effective, timely, and quality sourcing strategies to support our manufacturing processes. As a senior-level buyer, you will work closely with leadership teams, suppliers, and other internal stakeholders to optimize the procurement of raw materials, components, and services.
Key Responsibilities
* Strategic Sourcing & Procurement:
o Lead and manage the end-to-end sourcing process for key materials and services used in manufacturing.
o Develop and execute a strategic procurement plan to ensure the supply of high-quality materials at the best possible cost.
o Conduct market research and analyze trends to identify cost-saving opportunities and innovative sourcing strategies.
o Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with suppliers and negotiate favorable terms and conditions.
* Supplier Management:
o Oversee supplier performance to ensure on-time delivery, quality, and compliance with contractual obligations.
o Conduct regular supplier audits and manage the resolution of any issues that arise.
o Establish and maintain effective communication channels with suppliers to ensure seamless supply chain operations.
* Cross-Functional Collaboration:
o Work closely with internal departments such as manufacturing, quality control, and logistics to align procurement activities with production needs.
o Collaborate with the finance team to manage budgets, cost forecasting, and identify potential cost reductions.
o Provide strategic input to product development and engineering teams for sourcing materials that meet technical requirements and sustainability goals.
* Data & Analytics:
o Utilize data-driven insights and procurement software to track supplier performance, inventory levels, and cost trends.
o Prepare and present reports on procurement activities, supplier performance, and cost-saving initiatives to senior leadership.
* Risk Management & Compliance:
o Identify and mitigate supply chain risks related to external market fluctuations, supplier instability, and geopolitical factors.
o Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
Key Qualifications & Skills
* Education:
o Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CIPS, CPSM) is a plus.
* Experience:
o A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in strategic purchasing or procurement, with at least 5 years in a senior or leadership role in a manufacturing environment.
o Proven track record of managing complex supplier relationships and driving cost-saving initiatives.
o Experience in negotiating large contracts and managing multi-million-dollar procurement deals.
* Skills:
o Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
o Exceptional negotiation skills and the ability to influence key stakeholders.
o Proficient in procurement software, ERP systems, and advanced Excel for data analysis.
o Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, supply chain, and inventory management.
o Familiarity with sustainability and ethical sourcing practices.

o Strong leadership qualities with the ability to mentor and guide junior procurement staff.
o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
o Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
