As part of our great team here at Daimler Truck, we have an exciting leadership opportunity for a Head of Credit Risk to join us.
This role is perfect if you’re looking to provide leadership and strategic direction for all activities relating to credit risk, collections, and remarketing for DTFS UK. Innovate and develop new products to provide solutions for Customers, Dealers and Daimler Truck (DT)/Daimler Buses (DB) UK that create perceived value and additional profitable revenue streams for DTFS UK and support the transition from core products to services.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
The UK business operates within the DTFS “Europe” region and manages a lending portfolio of c.£700m across some 1,800 Truck, Bus, FUSO and non-DT customers/dealers.
As Head of Credit Risk you will:
* Ensure that the company takes a balanced view to credit risk, providing commercial solutions whilst minimizing credit losses through a proactive portfolio management approach. Ensure that all decisions and processes are compliant with local legal requirements, and within the standards and regulations set by Daimler Trucks Financial Services GmbH.
* Ensure that collections and remarketing activities are managed sensitively, with the best outcomes for insolvent Customers whilst protecting the commercial interests of DTFS by minimizing the potential multi-million-pound losses associated. Ensure that these losses are mitigated through effective risk management and commercially efficient disposal routes throughout the UK whilst working collaboratively with DT/DB UK.
* As a member of the local leadership team, you will participate and influence the future direction of the company ensuring our statutory obligations are met and commercial/cultural objectives achieved whilst being a strong advocate for topics within your portfolio. Maintain strong and collaborative relations with senior (Board level) stakeholders within DT/DB UK, Dealers and Customers through proactive face to face engagement.
* Lead by example, motivate and develop colleagues within the division (and across the company) and help them reach their full potential. Promote and foster a culture of diversity, inclusion, pride, passion and innovation.
* Ensure appropriate segregation of duty and 4 eyes principal in all processes whilst maintaining familiarity with all Risk Review and Corporate Audit guidelines and principals. Specific implementation of processes to ensure compliance with anti-money laundering, anti-trust, cyber security and data protection protocols.

Qualifications

You may have all/some of these skills:
Education & Work experience
* Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or equivalent education
* At least 5 years business experience in financing or banking and professional experience in credit operations and risk management
* Good understanding of captive business model and of financial services product range
Technical/Special Knowledge
* Analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
* Ability to work and communicate effectively in cross-functional teams
* High level of integrity, customer focus, relationship building, planning and organizing
* Fluent in English and right to work in UK
Competencies
* Strategic view, with the ability to translate into tactical initiatives
* Excellent leadership abilities, able to inspire and motivate
* Profound knowledge of financial statements analysis
* Logical thinking to make reasonable credit decisions
* Exceptional communication skills
