Location: Office base Ascot – Mobile role covering London & South East (M25, Essex, Kent & Suffolk). Summary of Role You will be trained and developed to carry out pre-planned maintenance works, fault find, and undertake repairs to Sprinkler Fire Pumps to relevant standards joining our team at our Ascot Branch. This is a great opportunity for an individual interested in entering the fire sprinkler industry and developing some niche skills as a Pump Engineer. What you will be doing Working with lead engineers, learning on the job with a one day a week dedicated to studying for your qualification. Installing / commissioning fire pump systems on client sites. Servicing, maintaining and repairing fire pump systems and associated equipment. Performing general electrical and mechanical engineering tasks to ensure that our pump systems are operating as specified. Entering confined spaces and other hazards area to complete work tasks. Maintain and record stock levels in company van, recording the details of all parts used on job completions report. Traveling nationwide to support our customers with our wonderful team of experienced and trainee Engineers. Candidates will be enrolled into relevant training courses for safety and help continue their development. What we will need from you 3 GCSES at Grade C (4) and above including Maths, English & Science (essential). ICT literate (essential). Full UK Driving licence (highly desirable). A genuine interest in how things work, a passion for fixing things and an ability to problem solve (essential). Experience of working with diesel engines would be an advantage but not essential as training will be provided. Good interpersonal skills with ability to liaise with clients/customers and your team mates (essential). A natural ability to show initiative, be curious and ask questions (essential). Strong written and attention to detail skills to complete job reports (essential). A genuine interest in undertaking an apprenticeship and joining the Fire Engineering industry (essential). About the apprenticeship You will study towards a Level 3 Engineering fitter / Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education over a period of 42 months. The 'off the job' training will be delivered online and is available 24/7. You will be assessed via assignments, observation and a portfolio of evidence. When not studying, you will work alongside our experienced and professional engineers delivering a real role job as a Fire Pump Service Engineer. You will be expected to travel to different sites within a geographical region. You will need to manage your time and commitments well to ensure that you are able to complete your assignments whilst delivering a highly valued role.
