Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Application Support Group Associate to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience in supporting, troubleshooting, and maintaining enterprise-level applications, with a strong focus on Unix environments and PL/SQL development and Ruby for scripting and automation.
As an Application Support Group Associate, you will be responsible for ensuring the stability, performance, and functionality of mission-critical applications across the organization. You will also play a key role in providing timely support for operational incidents and issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver technical solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide technical support for business-critical applications, ensuring they meet the required performance and availability standards.
2. Troubleshoot and resolve complex application issues in Unix environments.
3. Manage and support PL/SQL scripts and database queries, ensuring that database performance is optimal and issues are resolved in a timely manner.
4. Develop, maintain, and enhance Ruby scripts to automate routine tasks, improve system efficiency, and monitor application performance.
5. Participate in incident management, ensuring root cause analysis is performed and proper fixes are implemented.
6. Monitor and maintain applications and services, proactively identifying areas for improvement or potential risks.
7. Collaborate with application developers, infrastructure teams, and other stakeholders to troubleshoot issues and develop solutions.
8. Perform application installations, upgrades, patches, and migrations as required.
9. Maintain documentation related to application support, including incident resolution, workarounds, and known issues.
10. Provide on-call support for critical application issues outside of standard business hours, as required.
11. Ensure system security and integrity in alignment with company policies and industry best practices.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
1. 10+ years of experience in supporting enterprise applications in a production environment.
2. Extensive experience with Unix/Linux systems, including scripting, troubleshooting, and administration.
3. Strong proficiency in PL/SQL, including writing complex queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
4. Hands-on experience with Oracle or other relational database management systems (RDBMS).
5. Significant experience with Ruby scripting and application automation in Unix environments.
6. Experience in managing large-scale applications with a focus on high availability and scalability.
7. Familiarity with Dynatrace.
8. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly diagnose and resolve complex issues.
9. Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
10. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.
11. Experience with version control systems, CI/CD pipelines, and automated deployment processes is a plus.
12. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
Preferred Skills:
1. Knowledge of middleware technologies and application servers such as WebLogic, JBoss, or Tomcat.
2. Experience with Cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, etc.) is a plus.
3. Familiarity with ITIL best practices for incident management, problem management, and change management.
