At Stockport NHS Foundation Trust, we are proud that we care for our people as much as our patients. Whether you’re a student nurse or already qualified and looking to return to the profession, we’d love you to join us within our Emergency Department here at Stepping Hill hospital.
You will be part of a dynamic and friendly team who together strive to achieve the best patient outcomes and deliver the highest standard of care to all of our patients.
To succeed, you will need to be committed to delivering high-quality, patient-focused care with pride and respect, have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to provide evidence of personal and professional development.
This is an exciting opportunity to join our hardworking and dynamic nursing team in the Emergency Department where every day is different, and always something new to learn. Here at SFT, we have both adult and paediatric services. We are a multidisciplinary team with our own Advanced Clinical Practitioner and Emergency Nurse Practitioner team.
As a staff nurse at SFT, you’ll be expected to work within the NMC code of Professional Conduct working throughout the department in Majors Assessment, Minors, our Rapid Assessment Unit (Ambulance Triage), and Resuscitation to ensure that all our patients are seen efficiently and effectively, meeting all their clinical needs within the 4-hour target.
We show our commitment to our teams through excellent development and progression opportunities, starting with a comprehensive induction programme, so we’re proud to nurture and support our nurses to provide the very best care. In return, you’ll deliver our values: we care, we respect, and we listen.
We hold a unique position in the Stockport community as the provider of healthcare and we are one of its largest employers. We believe that the best organisations are those that reflect the communities they serve. We are therefore seeking to improve the diversity of our workforce to make it truly representative of our local population.
We actively encourage applications irrespective of race, age, disability, sex, gender reassignment, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, religion or belief, marriage & civil partnership, or pregnancy or maternity. Recognising those communities that are underrepresented within our workforce, we would particularly welcome applications from you.
If you require support with your application, please contact a member of the recruitment team, who can discuss alternative application methods.
We recognise that flexible working is important. We take requests for flexible working seriously, consider any request we receive and try to work with you, so we can explore if your request may fit with the needs of the service.
