Job description
As an Apprentice Retail Team Manager at Matalan you’ll be a key role model in our stores, showcasing our Matalan Values and behaviours whilst optimising sales and leading a high performing, energetic and adaptable team.
You’ll be coaching and motivating team members as an integral part of the store management team. As the apprentice Team Manager you’ll also be trained up to have responsibility for the running of the store in the absence of the Store Manager and will use feedback from customers to create a great shopping experience.

As an Apprentice you will be completing either a Level 3 Retail Team Leader or Level 4 Retail Manager Apprenticeship standard, depending on your experience, with Inspiro Learning.
You can start an apprenticeship whether you’re starting your career, want a change or you're upskilling in your current job. You can have a previous qualification like a degree and still start an apprenticeship.
As an apprentice you’ll:
have regular one to one sessions with a dedicated trainer either remotely or through visits to your workplace
learn and train for a specific job
get paid and receive holiday leave
get hands-on experience in a real job
study for at least 20% of your working hours
complete assessments during and at the end of your apprenticeship
be on a career path with lots of future potential
What is an apprenticeship?
An apprenticeship is a real job where you learn, gain experience and get paid. You’re an employee with a contract of employment and holiday leave. By the end of an apprenticeship, you'll have the right skills and knowledge needed for your chosen career.
Future Prospects
This is a fixed contract for at least the length of the apprenticeship programme, however after 6 months you will have the opportunity to apply for a permanent supervisor role.
Skills required
To be successful in this role you will need to have good customer service skills and experience in a retail environment. Some experience in a supervisory role is beneficial but not essential as full training will be given and the right attitude is more important.
Qualifications required
You do not need to have any qualifications to be successful in this role.

We are looking for someone with tenacity, resilience and a willingness to learn.

Salary equates to £23,667 per annum.
