Job summary An exciting, new opportunity has arisen within the Queen Elizabeth Emergency Department (ED). The ED Clinical Education Team is expanding, and we are looking for enthusiastic and clinically competent Healthcare Support Workers (HCSWs) with an interest in education. Candidates must be competent practitioners who will support the Senior Specialist Educator in the creation of new initiatives that will enhance staff development. The post holder will work in collaboration with healthcare colleagues and educators to ensure the development needs of the HCSW workforce are identified and addressed using approved, proven and credible methods. This will be a visible role, providing clinical support and practical guidance to clinical teams and departments as well as providing pastoral support for staff when required. Main duties of the job The post holder must be able to: - Co-ordinate and deliver high-quality education using lectures, simulation, study days and shop-floor teaching to upskill the HCSW workforce. This will include providing support to new starters. The post holder will be required to provide pastoral support to staff. - Communicate effectively, work well within a team and be able to use their initiative to make decisions. - Ensure consistently high standards of care are being met by providing a practical, flexible & immediate response to unforeseen educational issues in clinical areas to minimise clinical risks - Keep and maintain accurate training records as evidence of education provided to staff.
