The Courthouse bar is set in Lurgan in Co Armagh and is part of the Thomas Mc Conaghy & Sons Ltd group. The Mc Conaghy group have been in the licensed trade for over 50 years and seek an individual with passion, innovation and flare to join the Courthouse Bar.
The successful candidate will report to the Courthouse General and Assistant Manager. This role will involve working up to 44 hours a week 5/7 days on a rota basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for the smooth running of the Bars, ensuring the wellbeing of our customers and employees and the consistency of product and service whilst on duty and will also entail administration and stock duties.
The successful candidate should have:
* Previous experience in a similar role within the licensed trade and be able to demonstrate excellent multi-tasking, communication, management and customer service skills.
* A recognised hospitality qualification is desirable, but not essential.
Responsibilities of the role include:
* Delivering excellent customer service and maintaining a high standard of customer management at all times, ensuring customer experience exceeds expectations.
* Taking responsibility for the set-up and effective operation of the Bars.
* Ensuring that opening and closing procedures are adhered to, in line with company policy, taking account of security and the health & safety of people and property.
* Till operation, cash handling and daily/weekly cash reconciliation.
* Accurate maintenance of fire logs.
* Maximising all sales opportunities in the business, including quality product, service, entertainment and promotions.
* Rota-planning/adjustments, taking the necessary daily action to reduce/increase hours in line with sales.
* Managing all delivery processes, including checking in orders, storage, stock rotation, security, loss investigation and staff training.
* Keeping up to date with current industry trends and regularly creating drinks/cocktail lists, products and events that are new and inspiring.
* Following company security procedures at all times including procedures for the security of staff and premises.
* Carrying out risk assessments to ensure staff and customers’ safety.
* Monitoring and managing all maintenance issues and managing third-party contractors.
* Being aware of and adhering to licensing, data protection, Health & Safety at Work and COSHH legislation at all times.
Employee Management:
* Managing the bar team, motivating and leading the team and identifying training needs.
* Performance management of staff in line with company standards.
* Managing the day-to-day attendance of staff in line with company sickness and absence management policies and procedures.
* Taking an active role in the operation of company recruitment, disciplinary, grievance and other personnel procedures as required.
General:
* Always adhering to all company policies and procedures and licensing laws.
* Carrying out any duties as instructed by Senior Management and head office in accordance with the scope and responsibilities of this role.
* A competitive salary – up to £25,400 dependent upon experience.
