Lead Civil Design Engineer - Energy Transition - Glasgow Our UK and Continental Europe team is growing and we're looking for a Lead Civil Engineer to be based in Glasgow, who can progress in general infrastructure role to provide support a team of civil engineers and to projects across Jacobs' markets. This includes work on transmission system assets, HVDC interconnectors, energy storage systems, inertia systems, wind farms and advanced facilities for mission critical industries in the technology and process sectors. As a senior member, you will lead the civil engineering team across our energy portfolio. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure projects meet budget and schedule while providing expert technical guidance and solutions for our clients. About the Opportunity - Delivering Civil & Structural Designs for Cable, Substation & other T&D solutions spanning UK projects. - Developing designs and undertaking design coordination. - Lead people on projects to deliver positive outcomes for clients. - Produce design deliverables (assumption notes, technical specifications and calculation notes, etc). - Perform analysis tasks as necessary. - Oversight, verification and leadership for the preparation of Calculations, CDM activities, Basis of Design, Material Specifications, Scopes of Work, Technical Reports, Inter-discipline design coordination and supervision. - Technical verifications of civil engineering documents. A degree in Civil Engineering or another relevant engineering discipline Chartered Engineer status with a relevant institution or working towards chartered status. Experience within a civil discipline and experience in delivering complex multi-disciplinary projects for Energy Transition industry Experience preparing design calculations, reports, and detailed drawings.
