Role: Project Worker Substance Misuse
Location: Plymouth
Hours: 37 hours
Rate: GBP18 20ph + VAT (dependent on experience)
Contract: Until end March 2025 with possibility of an extension
Our client, a leading children's charity, is looking for a Project Worker to contribute to the overall provision of services for young people who misuse substances in Plymouth.
You will be working for a well-respected Children’s Charity and for a fantastic and dynamic team who pride themselves on delivering high-quality services and interventions to Children and Young People.
Synopsis of Duties:
* Ensure that all young people in contact with the service are assessed and treated for identified drug/alcohol problems.
* Work with individual young people who misuse substances and their families, including young people identified by the YOT Team.
* Deliver individually tailored and evidence-based group work programmes where appropriate.
* Deliver relevant drug prevention and harm minimisation strategies to all referred young people.
* Act as a consultant to other professionals who may require specialist help and support.
* Work across agency boundaries delivering a service to both the statutory and third sector.
* Provide a comprehensive and flexible assessment service to young people and agree and work towards support and action plans.
* Provide accessible information, advice and support on issues related to substance misuse.
Essential Requirements:
* Social Work degree or equivalent OR relevant professional qualification e.g., Youth & Community, Education or NVQ 3 Health & Social Care, or HNC in Social Care or Early Years.
* 2 years relevant experience working with young people.
* Knowledge of substance misuse and understanding of the Criminal Justice Process in relation to Young People.
* Sound knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
