Materials Planning Coordinator

Due to the nature of the role you will be required to obtain Security Clearance.
We are currently working with a client based in Gloucester that specialises in the design and manufacture of advanced composite & polymer materials. These products are used in a variety of sectors including Defence, Aerospace, Motorsport, Transportation and Healthcare.
A Materials Planning Coordinator will be responsible for engaging in exciting projects, ensuring materials and processes follow an efficient and cost-effective manufacturing route.
You will be working closely with all areas of the business including Design & Development, Manufacturing Engineering, Production, Purchasing & Finance to ensure accuracy of information, combat variance, and offer guidance to the business wherever required.
Key Responsibilities of a Materials Planning Coordinator:
1. Create, maintain and manage Bills of Materials (BoMs) for a variety of interesting products.
2. Ensure all BoMs are accurate, up-to-date and reflect the latest product designs, specifications and manufacturing approaches.
3. Input and manage data related to materials, components and assemblies in the company’s MRP system (IFS).
4. Take ownership of our BoM procedures, constantly improving the way we work.
5. Work closely with colleagues from all departments to gather the necessary information and ensure BoM accuracy.
6. Implement and track changes to BoMs as products & processes evolve, ensuring all stakeholders are informed of updates.
7. Maintain comprehensive documentation for all BoMs, including revisions and historical data.
8. Conduct regular audits of BoMs to identify and correct discrepancies.
9. Generate and distribute reports related to BoM status, changes, and impacts on production.
