Electrical Engineer
Location: Newcastle
Duration: 6 Months (Renewable)
Key Responsibilities
1. Review electrical system design packages, including transformers, motors, generators, HV/LV switchgear, MCCs, distribution networks, and control equipment.
2. Prepare Project Design Basis Documents and load lists in alignment with project scope.
3. Draft technical reports and specifications for electrical equipment beyond standard specifications.
4. Oversee and coordinate electrical activities with EPC contractors during FEED and design phases.
5. Collaborate with project managers to confirm Electrical Engineering scope.
6. Conduct analysis of selected major equipment and respond to technical/site inquiries.
7. Attend Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) for critical equipment.
8. Ensure contractor compliance with design standards, regulations, and best practices.
9. Provide support to project management in procurement, including evaluating Material Requisitions and Change Orders.
10. Work with engineering teams to uphold safety and technical standards.
11. Approve electrical engineering packages for construction and recommend improvements for facility standards.
Requirements
1. 10-15 years of experience in design, engineering, and construction (industry-specific experience preferred).
2. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or similar.
3. Strong knowledge of NEC, IEEE/ANSI, IEC, and other international standards.
4. Proficiency in analogue/digital control systems (PSA, DCS, PLC, SCADA).
5. High proficiency in English for analysis, presentations, and technical developments.
6. Experience with ETAP or similar software, as well as Microsoft Office.
