Role Summary The role of a Test Analyst is to support the Test Lead(s) and Manager(s) with the QA delivery for a major software release (core or configured) by writing detailed test conditions and test scripts with appropriate test data creation whilst undertaking test estimation exercises for time box planning. In addition they will provide support and guidance to the offshore test engineers for the test execution stages, while assisting with risk assessments and ultimately a detailed test plan. For small scale projects a Test Analyst may be required to manage the whole test cycle from test planning, scripting, execution, MI reporting through to delivery. Core Duties/Responsibilities Contributing to the writing on the project test plans Write test planning documentation from requirements specifications/user stories Fully understand how all aspects of their work integrates with the rest of the SDLC Support the Agile testing process, attending daily stand-ups and ownership of individual user stories Ability to analyse condensed business requirements to establish the testing coverage required, working with the business analysts to ensure suitable test coverage is in place while examining any associated risks Produce and agree testing/training/change estimates for project planning Writing of test conditions/scenarios, test scripts with expected results and test data for testing projects Manual test execution while accurately recording and storing test results Implemented scheduled tests, execution and logging the tests and evaluating the results and documenting any deviations from expected results Support the offshore test team, and juniors offshore with clarifications and queries Perform peer reviews of the test cases/scripts prepared by other team members Participate in test review meetings within the team Change control to original requirements for impact analysis and capture these changes within a traceability matrix or within TFS/Jira Defect retesting, fault reviews and defect analysis of any issues raised Triage defect retesting, fault reviews and defect analysis of any issues raised by offshore team Risk assessments to provide guidance for proposed test coverage Preparing test environment to execute test cases (Test Data) Skills, Capabilities and Attributes The successful candidate will demonstrate the following experience, skills and behaviours: ISEB Qualified Agile testing process is an advantage Experience of working on Pensions or Payroll administration applications Must have experience of working within the financial sector A good understanding of test methods, covering - system testing, regression testing, exploratory testing, negative testing and platform testing Must have experience of working in a development team that follows SDLC Strong quality control awareness Have comprehensive test analysis skills to be able to interpret test requirements where limited information has been provided Good communication skills Experience of working with the UAT/BAT teams to share knowledge and support final delivery to clients Experience of Microsoft TFS/MTM or JIRA desirable Experience of Visual Studio with the ability to create automated test scripts using C# Experience of SQL Server, Microsoft office and SharePoint desirable A good understanding of Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution occupational pension schemes would be beneficial What We Offer Save For Your Future - Equiniti Pension Plan; Equiniti matches your pension contributions up to 10% All Employee Long Term Incentive Plan (LTIP) – Gives all EQ Colleagues the opportunity to benefit if the current owners successfully sell the company for a profit.
