Core clinical duties of the job include:
* Being responsible for providing timely, patient-led care in line with the needs of young people and their families/carers, ensuring culturally sensitive practice.
* Provide expertise within the CAMHS multi-professional team,consisting of nursing, psychiatry, psychology, psychological therapies, and other disciplines.
* Work on own initiative when providing consultation, liaison and support, directing the young person to the correct support pathway using independent clinical decision making.
* Participate in assessments under Part 1 of the Mental Health (Wales) Measure (2010) with suitably qualified colleagues.
* Provide evidence-based, biopsychosocial interventions utilising CBT-informed approaches in both an individual and group-based modalities.
* Ability to plan care and act as case holder for individual patients.
* Assess and manage patient safety and risk and maintain appropriate record keeping in line with Health Board and professional standards including documentation (e.g. Wales Applied Risk Research Network (WARRN)).
* Develop the skills to provide physical health monitoring.
* Possess organisation skills to manage a clinical caseload with competing demands and frequent interruption.
