About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Validation & Verification (V&V) Function Lead to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the validation and verification activities within complex defence programmes, ensuring compliance with industry standards and delivering high-quality systems that meet customer requirements.
You will play a pivotal role in supporting the delivery of Certificates of Design by verifying and validating system performance, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and maintaining rigorous quality assurance throughout the lifecycle of the project.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the planning, execution, and reporting of system validation and verification activities across multiple programmes.
* Support the delivery of Certificates of Design, ensuring all necessary validation and compliance documentation is completed.
* Define and implement V&V strategies, test plans, and acceptance criteria in alignment with programme requirements.
* Ensure design verification through analysis, modelling, simulation, and formal testing.
* Develop and maintain compliance matrices, demonstrating adherence to customer and regulatory standards.
* Manage requirements traceability from system-level specifications to component testing and validation.
* Provide technical leadership to a multidisciplinary team, ensuring robust review and approval processes for V&V activities.
* Liaise with engineering, quality, and project management teams to resolve any design issues identified during V&V activities.
* Ensure that all test and verification results are correctly documented and reported for final design approval.
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry regulations, best practices, and emerging V&V technologies.
Skills & Experience Required
* Proven experience in systems validation and verification within a defence, aerospace, or highly regulated industry.
* Strong understanding of systems engineering principles, including requirements management, verification, and validation processes.
* Experience with delivering Certificates of Design and understanding of the compliance process.
* Proficiency in systems modelling, simulation, and analysis tools.
* Knowledge of industry standards such as ISO 15288, DO-178C, and MIL-STD-810.
* Strong problem-solving abilities with a methodical approach to troubleshooting design issues.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to lead technical discussions and reviews.
* Experience in test planning, execution, and reporting for complex systems.
* Familiarity with requirements management tools such as DOORS or equivalent.
