About the role
We are seeking a Materials Planner to join our dynamic team. The Materials Planner will be responsible for planning and ordering from a short-term perspective (0-6 weeks). Ensuring all materials are available to maximise weekly production output against production plan, and to minimise materials waste impact. Working with long term materials planner to ensure stock holding aligned to budget requirements and working collaboratively across the Supply Chain function, wider teams within IGC and a range of suppliers.
Key responsibilities:
* Ownership of assigned categories to deliver required materials in a timely and cost-effective way.
* Management and reporting on waste.
* Oversee orders of short-term materials including chilled ingredients, Sheard packing and any ad-hoc short-term requirements.
* Conduct root cause analysis of production supply issues by conducting investigations and providing feedback to the relevant teams.
* Work closely with the Warehouse team to manage capacity.
* Blast freezing and tempering of stock to minimise waste.
* Managing change amend requirements.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Required – Proven experience of materials management and working within a Supply Chain role
* Required - Experience of using multiple systems such as Microsoft Navision, Microsoft Excel and various others Supply Chain based systems
* Desirable – Food manufacturing experience
* Desirable - commercial awareness gained from previous role(s)
