Smart4Chemicals are looking to recruit a Mechanical Test Engineer for a leading organisation based in the Wrexham area.
As a Mechanical Test Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and implementing new testing techniques whilst also improving existing methods. You will also be responsible for expanding testing capabilities to include physical, analytical, and mechanical techniques.
Role requirements:
* Bachelors educated as a minimum in materials science, mechanical engineering, or a closely related subject. PhD would be advantageous.
* Previous industrial experience in the advanced materials sector, specifically composite materials.
* Strong understanding of composite materials.
* Team leader/management experience also highly beneficial.
* Experience OR strong understanding in the use of six sigma, lean, and CI tools.
Role responsibilities:
* Develop and implement new testing techniques covering physical, analytical, and mechanical whilst improving existing methods.
* Lead continuous improvement initiatives and method development.
* Perform root cause analysis and troubleshooting test failures.
* Actively support test requests and provide detailed reports with comparisons to industry standards.
* Help to expand testing capabilities within the lab.
