What This Position is About:
Experience success at Fleming, where we provide a unique and innovative learning environment for our students. As a Contract Faculty member, you will play a key role by promoting academic excellence, developing an effective learning environment, and designing, teaching, revising, and updating curriculum. Your previous working experiences will provide a broad range of practical knowledge to enhance the student learning experience. Contract Faculty may teach in teams or independently and develop/deliver curriculum in a variety of ways including face-to-face (lectures, seminars, labs) and online.
We are currently recruiting Contract Faculty for the School of Trades and Technology – Continuing Education.
This position may be working fully or partially remote, and some projects may involve travel to off-site locations to provide training. All employees are periodically required on campus.
What We Are Looking For:
Food Safety and/or Food Service Facilitator: You possess a minimum of an Ontario College Diploma or undergraduate degree (food or nutrition-related education is preferred), five or more years’ minimum experience working in a food preparation-related work environment, and a current TrainCan (or equivalent) Food Safety Train the Trainer Certification. Recent experience as a Public Health Inspector would be a definite asset.
Essential Criteria
You will have demonstrated experience teaching adult learners within the last five years. In addition to your industry experience, preference will be given to candidates with teaching, curriculum design, innovative development and delivery experience, either at the high school, post-secondary or corporate/industry levels. Experience in adult learning and developing/delivering educational materials in alternative formats is a definite asset.
Any of the following are strong assets:
* Master’s degree
* Bachelor of Education / Ontario College of Teachers Qualification
* Masters of Arts in Adult Education / Masters of Education
This role requires the incumbent to demonstrate accountability and responsiveness to learners, colleagues and the community. Additionally, your experience illustrates your self-motivation, superior communication and interpersonal skills, critical thinking and problem solving, as well as proficiency in a variety of current computer applications.
Salary Range
As per the non-full-time academic salary grid.
